Essential Tips for Perfect Wedding Ceremony Photos

First look bride dad ceremony discovering happy emotion love bouquet

THE Wedding ceremony

Your wedding day is a celebration of love, filled with precious moments that deserve to be captured. As a bride, you’ll want to ensure that your ceremony photos reflect the beauty and emotion of this special day. Here are some tips to help you take stunning pictures during your ceremony.

The wedding ceremony is one of the most important moments of the big day.

during the consultation, one of the first questions i ask couples when talking about the ceremony is this:

do you want me to stand back and capture moments from a distance without being almost visible, or do you want me to move around the room if possible?

Why do you ask?

depending on the answer, I'll adapt and discuss it with you with examples.

1. The photographer

Communication is key: Ask as many questions as you like. How does the civil ceremony take place at the Dublin Registry Office, for example, or show me examples at Dublin City Hall. With examples I can show you and reassure you about this important moment and what are the key moments and why.

2. Create a Shot List, or not!

Creating a photo to-do list isn't always essential.

however, it's always a good idea to let me know about the organization. do you have any musicians or traditions? In order to capture the most I would be 100% focused and want to make sure I get the moments that are important to you. For example, at a wedding at City Hall, the couple exchanged vows in envelopes they won't be allowed to open for another year. I found this very touching and moving, and I was in a good position to take some great photos. I was warned of this important moment for them, as it only lasted a few seconds.

Best tip

If you just want things to happen without stress and in the moment, the only thing to do is to take your time and love the moment.

Also, more you take your time, more I can take picture.

3. Consider the Lighting

Natural light can enhance your photos dramatically. If you’re planning an outdoor ceremony, choose a time when the sunlight is soft, like during the golden hour (just before sunset). If indoors, discuss lighting options with your photographer to ensure everything is well-lit.

In Ireland, it's not always possible to hold the ceremony outside, but if you can, the photos will be all the better for it.

4. Plan for Guest Interaction

Encourage your guests to be part of the photography process. Assign someone to take candid shots from their perspective. This way, you’ll have a variety of angles and moments to look back on.

5. Practice Your Poses

While candid moments are magical, having a few poses in mind can help you feel more comfortable. Practice with your partner to capture those intimate moments naturally. Discuss with your photographer about potential poses that highlight your best features and tell your love story.

6. Enjoy the Moment

On your wedding day, it's easy to get caught up in the details. Take a moment to breathe and soak in the love around you. The best photos often come when you’re genuinely enjoying the moment, so let your happiness shine through.

We love, I love

That moment that happens before and those that happen after. the first kiss is super important but beyond that there are also the moments that last only a few hundredths of a second that I think are also important. after the first kiss the couple hugged and I find this moment very beautiful that I've included in my selection of the best of the day in addition to the kiss itself obviously.
